New Global Trust Registry Project: Call for Participation

A UN/CEFACT Global Trust Registry project is underway, and calling for participants.

Building on the work of the UN Transparency Protocol (UNTP), which has defined a Digital Identity Anchor (DIA) credential, the project will create a globally verifiable certificate of registration for authoritative registers. It aims to define standards, support pilots, and provide governance and implementation guidance to drive adoption.

Digital trust expert, John Phillips from Sezoo, is co-leading the project and is looking forward to the kick-off meeting. He says the need is obvious:
"If we want global transparency and digital trust to scale, we have to be able to go back to the sources of truth — the registries that prove who’s who. This project is about making that visible and verifiable, without trying to control it. Every country runs its own registers. This will help those who need them be able to find them."

ISO and UNECE Team Up to Establish Global Digital Product Passport Standard

International standard project ISO/PWI 25534-1 Digital Product Passport – Overview and Fundamental Principles pairs globally renowned and respected standards body ISO with the UN body driving international cooperation on trade, standards, and sustainability. Together, they will draw on experts, industry insights and contributors to develop the first global standard for Digital Product Passports.

The project’s first two sessions brought together over 2,300 global experts! With the groundwork now laid, upcoming symposia will tackle real-world applications across sectors like textiles, batteries, and construction.

This signals growing consensus that digital product data is essential infrastructure for modern, trustworthy trade.

INTRODUCING Pyx Identity Resolver (IDR) 1.0

The Pyx Identity Resolver is an open-source API service for dynamic resolution of identifiers to relevant data. It supports traceability, transparency, and interoperability in digital supply chains while adapting to evolving regulatory environments, such as product labelling requirements.

Released as v1.0 in anticipation of the United Nations Transparency Protocol (UNTP) 1.0 standard, the resolver is deployed in Pyx-led pilots and is ready for pilot use.

It enables flexible management of identifier schemes and link types, with features including:

  • Anonymous resolution for public identifiers

  • Authenticated write access for registry operators and identifier owners

  • Containerised application for rapid integration

  • Alignment with standards like GS1 Digital Link and RFC 9264

The Pyx team actively supports the tool and can assist with integration, hosting, or customisation as part of broader UNTP-aligned implementations.
